There are things as humans that we cannot live without. Love, food, and water.
This list of things I cannot live without is not going to include the necessary things needed to sustain human life because it would be a waste of space. No, this is a list of luxuries that I can definitely survive without but would never want to live without.
1. My iPod
I have a phone and it’s cool I guess but my iPod is my life. That’s what I use to take pictures, go on social media, and where all my music is stored. I cannot leave my house without my iPod but my phone… easily. If I had an iPhone I would have no need for an iPod but my parents think iPhones are unnecessary. My iPod is also full of notes and ideas I think about throughout the day that I would love to not forget. I do everything with my iPod and would much rather be without my phone than without it. My friends know this. I feel incomplete without it. It’s sad that we’re slaves to our devices but this is 2017, fam. This is the future. This is how life works now.
2. WIFI
I know I’m not the only one who can’t live without WiFi. Data is expensive guys and I ain’t got the monies. Also, how am I supposed to download things and watch YouTube videos without WiFi? How!? The Internet, in general, is something I can’t live without. I’m building the foundation for a career that relies on the internet. There’s no way I could live without it. No further discussions. WiFi is a top priority.
3. My Laptop
My laptop has my whole life. It’s where all my pictures are stored and its how I access the internet when I’m doing things that can’t be done on a smartphone i.e. write blog posts and watch gang youtube videos. It’s how I edit pictures taken with my camera and watch movies and series. Microsoft Word has also recently become my journal when I need to access my feelings and understand what is going on in my life. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I enjoy writing. It’s cathartic and I find it’s the best way I express myself so yeah, my laptop is basically my best friend.
4. My Camera
How am I supposed to capture life’s beautiful moments and most importantly, my beautiful food without it? A phone’s camera can take adequate photographs and is perfect when you’re in a pinch, you’re out and about doing many things and seeing many places and you don’t want to draw too much attention to yourself holding a professional camera. However, there are times where only a proper camera can do your image justice and take the types of photographs that transport you to a whole different reality. That National Geographic level of photography.
5. Oats
You didn’t expect a food item on this list, did you? Especially since I said I wouldn’t write about food; an obvious essential. Well, I lied. That’s the lengths I would go through for oats. If you follow me on Instagram you would know my love for oats runs deep. I eat it almost every single day for breakfast and I will never stop hyping up the way it keeps me full for a hundred years and is high in protein, fibre, and iron. It’s the ultimate breakfast of champions for a reason. I can’t even think of a reality where I would have no access to oats. Oh yeah, and one more thing; you can put it on your face if it’s sunburnt or sensitive. How freaking cool!? I love oats.
If you took these five things away from me you would take away what I am. Yes, I waste a lot of time watching youtube videos on my laptop but I also use it to write. I spend most of my time listening to music, it calms my soul. I could live my life without taking pictures of food but then I’d have nothing to live for. These items are needed for me to live my best and most fulfilled life. They’re necessary for my mental and physical health and allow me to express my creativity in a positive and healthy way. Taking away these items is like taking away my will to live. And oats just satisfy my hunger really well in the morning.
You’re such an entertaining writer, I hope these 30 days go by slowly……snails pace like your hair…..looooool!!!!!!
